Great Divide Hibernation Ale ( Denver, CO )

Great Divide Hibernation Ale, Colorado’s original strong ale, was first made in 1995. It is brewed each July with American ale yeast, Northwest 2-Row, Brown, Dark Caramel and Chocolate malts and Centennial and Cascade hops. Batches are then cellared until November. This big, malty, hop-rich ale was a Gold Medal at the American Beer Festival in 1997 and the 2005 vintage was awarded a silver medal in the Aged Beer category at the 2006 GABF.

Great Divide
These beers have landed an impressive amount of acclaim: Great Divide beers have earned 16 Great American Beer Festival medals and 4 World Beer Cup awards. Great Divide was also ranked 14th in’s 2008 “The Best Brewers in the World” and was ranked 7th in Beer Advocate’s 2008 “All-Time Top Breweries on Planet Earth.”
