Dogfish Head Midas Touch ( Milton, DE )

When they uncovered the ancient tomb of the Egyptian king whose life inspired the legend of King Midas, the man whose very touch turned things into gold. University of Pennsylvania archeologists also discovered the largest collection of Iron Age drinking vessels ever found. From residues in the goblets, they were able to reveal the secrets of the beverage drunk at the king's funeary feast. It was a combination of grape wine, barley beer and honey mead.

Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats opened as Delaware’s first brewpub opened in June 1995 in the resort community of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It was the smallest commercial brewery in America, with a 12-gallon brewery capacity. Ten months after opening, this was expanded into a piecemeal 300-gallon brewery and a thirty-fold expansion of the brew house.
