Dixie Blackened Voodoo ( New Orlaens, LA)

Blackened Voodoo Lager is a full-bodied lager with a distinctive character. It has a pleasant bouquet and a smooth even finish. As a result of Hurricane Katrina, Dixie beers are currently being brewed in Wisconsin while attempts are made to revive 100-year old New Orleans brewery.

Founded October 31, 1907, Dixie Brewing Company on Tulane Avenue in New Orleans is one of the twelve remaining regional breweries in America and the only privately held, family-owned regional brewery in the South. As the sole survivor of New Orleans’ once flourishing beer industry, Dixie continues to ignore the speeded-up processes used by most large American breweries today. Instead, the traditional slow-brewed, hands-on method is maintained in each step of their unique brewing process. The beers of Dixie are characteristic of the gracious charm and the joy of living inherent in the New Orleans way of life. More than just a Brewery, the Dixie Brewing Company is a tradition, a visible landmark and as much a part of Louisiana culture as Mardi Gras, Creole and Cajun cooking and New Orleans Jazz.
