Rogue Santa's Private Reserve ( Newport, OR )

Santa's Private Reserve is Rogue's annual holiday offering, a variation of the classic Saint Rogue Red, but with double the hops--including Chinook, and Centennial, and a mystery hop called Rudolph by head brewer John "more hops" Maier. This holiday beer is brewed with two-row Harrington, Klages and Munich malts, along with Hugh Baird 30-37, Carastan 13-17, and Crystal 70-80 malts, plus free range coastal water and John's proprietary top-fermenting Pacman yeast.

Rogue
Rogue Ales was founded in 1988 by Jack Joyce, Rob Strasser and Bob Woodell and the first Rogue brewpub was located in Ashland, Oregon and was a 10bbl brewsystem. A second brewpub, a 15bbl brewsystem, opened in Newport, Oregon in May 1989. Rogue eventually closed its Ashland operation after a great flood destroyed the place. In 1991, the 15bbl system from the Newport brewpub was transferred across the bay to the current brewery at and upgraded to a 30bbl system. In 1998 Rogue bought a 50bbl brewsystem and it is the only brewsystem now in use.
